Google Apps Review – Ultimate Email Management

Submitted by Jeff Weisbein on February 29, 2008 – 5:25 PM0 Comments

Email management at its best – that is what Google Apps provides, but it doesn’t stop there – oh no, it exceeds just email and offers a vast number of solutions that anyone who owns a domain or perhaps a company would likely be interested in.

If you use Gmail you are most likely familiar with its excellent email management, spam filtering, labeling, forwarding to POP3 or SMTP, and that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the features of Gmail. If you use iGoogle you are most likely familiar with home pages that can be customized to almost every single aspect. If you use Google Docs you are probably aware of the vast amount of features within that as well, such as ease of document sharing and team-editing as well the ability to create spreadsheets, regular documents, and forms. If you use Google Talk you know its excellence in quality when it comes to voice (it out preforms Skype in my opinion). If you use Google Calendar you know how easy it is to manage your schedule. Oh and now, you have Google Sites – the latest edition to Google Apps which allows you to create web pages with ease – no need to know HTML.

Now think of all that bundled into one package and completely customized to your needs. That is what Google Apps offers for free. Now you tell me why shouldn’t you use Google Apps for your email, especially when you get all the other features that come bundled with it. If not for any other reason, with Google Apps you do not have to worry about not being able to communicate with people via email ever. For example, if your web server were to go down – have no fear, you will still have access to all of your email as well as all of your other software provided by Google Apps. To me, that is a great feeling.

Have you used Google Apps? Let me know what you think! Leave a comment.
