Since my site is a very well known download location the malware authors are redirecting people away from my download link.

Jeff, that is most likely due to the infection on your system. I searched the internet for a solution and came across a post that recommended Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It worked great at removing the infection I knew about and found several others I wasn't even aware of. Bravo!-Greg

I was infected with anti-virus 2008 just by viewing a website. AVG 8.5 could find nothing.Ended up going to safe mode where after a 2hr scan AVG found and "removed to vault" a win32/Cryptor virus. Didn't fix problem though! Only said it moved it!After 4-5 hrs of poking around the internet looking for a solution Geeks to Go website recommend MBAM. Got it, but wouldn't load. WTF!Thats when I found out that these dang things can block the apps from finding them. Fortunately on the MBAM forums a person there mentioned another handy little app called rootpeal and how to find and remove the portion of the virus that was doing the blocking....worked like a hot damn and then MBAM had no problem removing the freakin Trojan crap!!!Dang this requires another whole new round of learning to keep this crap out of my system. But Mbam will certainly on my list to keepers. I think i may purchase it too so I can have the realtime protection on my sons comp - this shit is getting crazy/dangerous!OH Yah! and I didn't have to turn off my AVG and Adware to run this! (though I think I'll dump adware and AVG and try Avira and ).kp

I was at my wits end…my son’s computer picked up “something” the other night and it was causing the computer to freeze up – sometimes immediately sometimes not for a few minutes. For some reason my IE browser kept opening up without my permission on start-up and I had to end the process to close it.This never happened before so I tried to find the answer online, I came across a tech support forum with someone who had the same problem and the techie recommend Malwarebytes anti-malware to remove it. I already have the full verison of AVG but I know from experience that programs and miss a couple of viruses from time to time. So I decided to give it a try. Not only did it fix the problem, it found 14 trojans/spyware on my comp at the same time! I was a bit unsettled by this since AVG didn't detect them, but they removed it all easily and I haven't seen IE pop out without my permission since. Whew, thanks Malwarebytes, I thought I was going to loose it!

I was having some problems with trojans and viruses. Malwarebytes cleaned up and removed all traces of Antivirus XP 2008. I run it weekly after updating the file patterns, which takes only about one minute. Great free program. Also it does not seem to bother my other AV software so I use them both.

I use the free Malwarebytes program to backup other AV software, because none of the others I have tried removed the Antivirus XP and other fake programs that corrupt the registry and slow down the PC.
