Ugh. So much wrong with it. The layout, the non-relevant results (still can’t find my own blog listed, even with five targeted search terms), and the name is juvenile. Reminds me of “kewl.” You can tell me all you want it’s pronounced “cool,” but that’s not what it looks like. This thing can’t go anywhere “as is.” Needs a major revamp already.

Well, I tried Cuil on the 29th. I was able to get onto Cuil faster than Google (due to server location), but the Cuil results are very irrelevant, and you can’t use operators like “AND”, “OR”, and “site:” in order to refine your results.

Thanks for the comment K. It appears the results are getting worse and worse by the day. A quick search for besttechie now yields more irrelevant results than two days ago.

Not to mention, the descriptions are just as you said, a mish mash of text. Seems it’s getting worse, not better.

On a side note, did you see Yuil? It used Yahoo’s BOSS technology. However, they took it down earlier.

Uh-huh. Shouldn’t even that though have some relevancy to the page?

After striking out trying to find something I was researching I decided to do a search where I knew what the results should be.

I did a search on a particular bench I make, and which comes out on the first page on a Google search. Not only didn’t the provided link(s) take me to my page, The photos were not from my page, and the description, a mish mash from multiple unrelated pages, had me being saved by Mr T from Michael Jackson’s glove!

A very big disappointment; what good is having access to all those pages if you cant even provide one relevant link to the users question.

Don’t worry about the name or layout, just get results and everyone will stop griping about the rest.

I tried to search for “Cuil” on Cuil and no results for their website came out. Made me chuckle. Seriously though, they have major issues with relevancy.
