Today we did our first “vent-in” question and answer on live.besttechie.net. TechHelper1 asked what applications I use on my computers. Here is a list of my most commonly used applications.

Internet Based Applications:

Firefox – Web browser
Opera – Web browser
Safari – Web browser
Outlook 2007 – Email client
Filezilla – FTP application
Digsby – IM Client
Ventrilo – Voice communication client
Google Talk – IM/Voice client
Windows Live Messenger – IM Client

foobar2000 – Audio player
Nero – Burning application and multimedia player
Moyea FLV to Video Converter Pro – Video converting software
iTunes – Audio player and music store
dBPoweramp Music Converter – Audio ripper and converter

System Based Applications:

Daemon Tools – Virtual CD Drive / Mounting application
WinRAR – Archiving application
VMWare Workstation – Create and run virtual machines
Ultramon – Extend your desktop across multiple monitors
EasyBCD – Easily manage/edit your boot configuration file

Anti-Malware Based Applications:

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware – Remove malware and rogue applications with ease

Office/Text Based Applications:

PSPad – Universal “do it all” text editor
PDFCreator – Create PDF’s for free
Foxit Reader – Free PDF reader – very light on resources
