YouTube Introduces New Video Uploader

Submitted by Jeff Weisbein on September 29, 2008 – 4:33 PM0 Comments
YouTube Introduces New Video Uploader

Today YouTube has unvield a new video uploader (currently in beta) – what does it have to offer?  Well, for one, it allows you to upload video files up to 1GB in size as opposed to the previous 100MB limit.  It is obvious YouTube is trying to remain competitive against newer sites such as Viddler and Vimeo.

In addition to the increased video size limit, the new uploader, allows users to input metadata like the video name, description, and tags while it is being uploaded.  YouTube has also included another key element to the new uploaded – the ability to upload multiple videos (up to 10) at once to streamline the uploading process.  However, YouTube still imposes the 10 minute clip limit for those who are not site partners.

I currently use a service called TubeMogul to upload my videos to YouTube and several other services such as Revver, Viddler, etc.  However, for those who just use YouTube this is definitely worth checking out.

What do you think of the new uploader?  Leave a comment!
