Malware Defender 2009 is a rogue application that has intentional false positives and demands you pay money to remove them. If you have Malware Defender 2009 on your machine, please take the time to download and install Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware.

In order to remove Malware Defender 2009 from your computer, please follow the instructions below.

Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to the following:
o Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
o Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
* Then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. The rogue application should now be gone.

If for some reason you are unable to run Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware due to the infection blocking it, try this work-around method.

That’s it, you should now be infection-free! If your current anti-virus solution let this infection through, you may want to consider purchasing the PRO version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware to protect against these types of threats in the future.

If you should require further assistance feel free to post on our forums.

    They are using your credit card information to rob you!. Don’t even bother to call the BBB just call your credit card company and cancel your credit card inmediately.

    The Malware 2009 program is a Scam!

    What do you do if it won't allow you to even download the malware remover? Anytime I click on the download it takes me to a page that says internet explorer cannot display the webpage. I'm not very knowledgeable on rootkeys and virus removers either, so I don't know if I should just take this in to be fixed or if I can do it on my own. I really don't have the money to take it in though, so if anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I have to do my homework on this pc and it's important I get this removed. Please help :)

      I went to geekstogo.com and followed the malware-spyware-cleaning-guide on there and then I went into safemode by manually shutting down the tower and at reboot, clicking F8 until it came up with options that allowed me to choose safemode with networking and I did that and then went to walwarebytes.org and was able to download the mbam.exe removal tool and it found 36 infections but now they are all gone! Thanks everyone for the help! :)
