This past weekend I attended the Teens In Tech conference and while I was there the conference host (Daniel Brusilovsky) was nice enough to hook me up with Dan Harris of Blue Microphones.  Dan gave me Blue’s signature USB microphone which is called the Yeti.  Blue’s Yeti is feature-packed.  When I told Dan I currently had a Samson C01U USB studio condensor microphone, he assured me the Yeti was much better so I took it home.

The Yeti includes four controls on the microphone itself – master volume, mute button, gain adjustment, and a knob to change the different settings.  Blue’s Yeti includes a custom base built directly onto the mic itself (which is pretty big).  The mic also has a headphone jack and a mini USB port (to power the mic).  Additionally, the mic can be adjusted to tilt more forwards or backwards.

The Yeti features four different settings – stereo, cardioid, omnidirectional, and bidirectional.  Each setting can be used for different recording scenarios (see full chart below).  I’ll have the full review up as soon as I have thoroughly tested it so keep an eye out for that.
