Talking tech since 2003

It has been almost 5 months since the first iPad has come out and people are already wondering what the next iPad should have. Since the release of the iPhone 4, people have found some features on the phone that should be on the 2nd generation iPad. For example, people are really hoping to see a retina display on the next iPad. After using the iPhone 4 for over a month now, I couldn’t agree more. The retina display is absolutely stunning and the thought of having it on a 9.7 inch display would be even better.

That brings me to another point: screen size. People are saying that they think the next iPad should have a smaller screen. I am going to have to disagree there. After using the iPad for a little while, I don’t think I would want anything much smaller. What would be really nice is if they could somehow reduce the weight of it. Another big request is either a front facing camera, back facing camera or both. At first, I didn’t really see a need for it, but after using the iPhone 4 and its FaceTime feature, I really see an advantage to having some kind of FaceTime feature on the iPad.

The gyroscope functionality which was something introduced in the iPhone 4 would be another excellent addition to the second generation iPad.  As expected, the gyroscope functionality has excelled in the gaming department.  There is a game on the iPhone 4 called Eliminate: GunRange that takes advantage of the gyroscope and it is an absolutely phenomenal game. If that were to be on the iPad, it would make the game 10x better.

What other features do you think should be in the next generation iPad? I know we still have a while to go before then, but I’m still curious as to what’s out there.
