AVCare is a rogue anti-malware application. AVCare is usually encountered when visiting web sites that display a pop-up stating that your computer is infected and that you should run an online anti-malware scanner in order to check for infections. Whether you press on the pop-up or not, you will then be brought to a page that shows an advertisement pretending to be an online anti-malware scanner. The advertisement will simulate a program scanning your computer, and then when finished, will state that your computer has numerous infections and that you should download and install AvCare to protect your computer. If you have AVCare installed you are strongly recommended to follow the removal guide below.

In order to remove AVCare please follow the directions below:

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can detect and remove this rogue application for free. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to the following:

    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware


  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. The rogue application should now be gone.
