I want to update our embarrassing outdated website. I guess then main thing we need to start off is a nice header. A few years ago I had a logo professionally done. I was given several formats: ai, jpeg, eps and pdf.

I want the new header to just be the logo centered on a 1000 x 250 px light blue background. To superimpose the logo on the blue background, I think I need transparency. From what I remember, jpeg will not work. Will the eps format work for this?

I just install the gimp on my mac mini. I will just start experimenting.
