I have all of the materials and measurements for building a yagi wifi antenna. I intend to connect the antenna to this USB wifi LAN adapter.
What I would like to know is if I remove the black covering over the LAN adapter's antenna can I directly solder the exposed antenna (cut or uncut) to the dipole of the yagi antenna and everything still work as it should? Or do I absolutely have to use a N connector with pigtail to connect the yagi's dipole to the SMA connector on the USB adapter?

Buy two of them. If it doesn't work you can then go the other route.
