Ichat Problems can't connect

i bought an ibook for college and have been completely happy with it- when i moved into my dorm, however, ichat and limewire stopped working. they won't connect. i tried turning off my firewall and that didn't work - does anyone know what's wrong?

Maybe something to do with what the college will or will not allow. Heard that some colleges stopped people using p2p on their networks. Just a thought. Ask around at college.

robroy is right it could very well be that. but what exactly does it do when you try it. do you get any kinda error message or does everything like your browser work but iChat just sits there?
